Christina has been a member of Stefans Law Group, PC since the fall of 2013. Christina’s key focus at Stefans Law Group, PC has been on our Estate Planning and Estate Administration matters.
Christina gained valuable experience working at Touro Law Center’s Elder Law Clinic and as a legal assistant at an Elder Law Practice in Suffolk County. While a member of Touro Law Center’s pro-bono Elder Law Clinic, Christina represented clients in Article 17A Guardianship proceedings, assisted with Medicaid Fair Hearings and represented clients in administering the estate of their loved ones. While working at the Elder Law Practice, Christina prepared many of the client’s estate planning documents as well as assisted with estate administration matters.
Christina has a personal connection with the field of Elder Law and could not picture herself involved with any other area of the law. Her strongest connection to the field was through her grandmother, Monica. Monica was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease which was triggered after the death of her husband in 2004. Christina’s grandparents had met with an Elder Law attorney years earlier and set up a plan that would last long after her grandfather’s passing and would ultimately alleviate the burdens many families experiencing this disease encounter. Having this plan in place, it allowed her family to care for Monica in the best way possible up until her death in January of 2014.
Through personal experience and passion for this field, Christina looks to provide support and guidance to those families experiencing many challenging situations or to simply better prepare their families for the future.
